Windows Could Not Format a Partition

Windows installation is helpful to address all kind of operating system issues like blank screen, blue screen, operating system not found, boot device not found, and so on. Step 2. When you are in the main interface of Partition Wizard Bootable, find the partition that needs formatting. (You should be careful because the drive letters here can be different from what you see in Windows.) then select it and choose “Format Partition” feature from the left action panel.

Step 3. Confirm you want the formatting and select NTFS as the target file system. Apply the changes finally.

Tip: If “Format Partition” function fails to work for the installation, just delete partitions in MiniTool Partition Wizard.

When you see the Install Windows panel, just choose “Repair your computer” instead of “Install now”. This will bring you to Windows Recovery environment, where you can access the command prompt and do the formatting.

1) diskpart
2) list disk
3) select disk [n] (*please enter the correct disk number like disk 1)
4) clean
5) create partition primary
6) select partition [n] (*please enter the correct partition number like partition 1)
7) active
8) format fs=ntfs
Now exit command prompt and you can repeat installing Windows 7/8/10. Check if “Windows could not format a partition on disk 0” still persists.
