SanDisk is an American manufacturer that produces memory cards and card readers, USB flash drives, and solid-state drives. In February 2015, it became the third-largest manufacturer of flash memory in the world. On May 12, 2016, SanDisk was acquired by hard drive manufacturer Western Digital in a US$19 billion deal. Since SanDisk is world famous, a lot of people use SanDisk as their potable drives. However, since they need to transfer SanDisk among different devices, SanDisk format tool is necessary to format the drive to different file system.

Step 1. Run “diskmgmt.msc” to call out Windows Disk Utility. Then at the disk map area, right-click the SanDisk partition and choose Format from the context menu.
Step 2. In the pop-up window, choose the file system, volume label, and allocation unit size you want before you click OK.
Tip: it is worth mentioning that you cannot format a partition with FAT32 file system is it is larger than 32 GB. This is a limitation in Disk Utility but can get overcome if you use MiniTool Partition Wizard.
Step 3. When you see the warning message that tells formatting will lead to data loss on this drive, you need to click OK to continue. Then SanDisk formatting will be finished quickly.
