Today a massive of data are saved on computer hard drive, making a reasonable hard drive configuration more and more important. But sometimes during the hard drive management process, we may make some mistake. For example, we may accidentally delete the recovery partition. As recovery partition is somewhat important for operating system reset, some users are eager to know how to restore deleted recovery partition.
Don’t worry, we will show you the best solution.
How to Recovery Deleted Partition
Buy MiniTool Partition Wizard
Deleted partition recovery is easy as long as you have professional partition recovery software to help you. Here a reputed tool named MiniTool Partition Wizard Pro is recommended. It offers the way to quickly get lost partition back provided that you haven’t made any further operation to the drive. Now follow the guide below and do it by yourself.
Step 1. Run MiniTool Partition Wizard to get the main interface. Then select the hard drive on which the recovery partition used to be there and choose “Partition Recovery” from the action panel.
Step 2. You will be asked to select a scanning range. Here we think Full Disk and Unallocated Space is easier to handle if we are not professional, so choose either one to continue.
Step 3. Now choose a scanning method. First of all, we can select Quick Scan to take our chance and save time. This method always works, but if it fails, go back and turn to Full Scan.
Step 4. After some time, we will be lead to the nest interface, where you can have a view of all the partitions found. Now please focus on the Status. The “Lost/Deleted” should be the one that we need to recover. Also view other properties to help us distinguish. Next, we need to tick ALL NEEDED PARTITIONS, no matter they are lost or existing. Click Finish finally.
Step 5. We can see what will happen on the selected disk from the disk map. Also, we can have a view of the pending operating listed in the action panel. Last but not least, press Apply on the toolbar to put all operations into effect.
Tip: drive letter of the recovered partition is missing. So we need to allocate a drive letter
to the recovery partition or we can just leave it that way in case of wrong operation.
This is not all…
We do have another way to recover deleted recovery partition.
A use who accidentally deleted recovery partition Lenovo just shared his experience on forum. Here is the key information:
Step 1. Create a Windows installation media and then open it to find a file named install.esd. This is the very recovery partition but at this time it is useless.
Step 2. To make it work for you, you have to move it to a location on your drive. Then, convert it from install.esd to install.wim via some converters like WimConverter tool. Finally, copy the install.wim file to a new folder on your C:\ drive, labeled C:\Win10-Recovery for example.
Step 3: Run Command Prompt (Admin) on the desktop. Next, in the command line, enter: REAGENTC /SetOSImage /Path C:\Win81-Recovery\INSTALL.WIM /Index 1.
Step 4: Type: REAGENTC /Info.
Step 5: Type: exit.
See! Creating a new recovery partition is indeed an effective solution, but requires complicated operating steps and skills. You may just choose the way that is easier to you.
